Racial Harmony Day fall on teh 21st of July.As stated in Wikipedia, The event is to commemorate a racial riot which took place on 21 July 1964. Racial Harmony Day also represents a day for schools to reflect on, and celebrate Singapore's success as a racially harmonious nation and society built on a rich diversity of culture and heritage. In schools all across the nation on that day, students are encouraged to be dressed in their traditional costumes such as the Cheongsam and the Baju Kurung. Traditional delicacies are also featured in the celebrations. Traditional games such as Kutih-kutih and zero point are played in schools, where inter-class competitions are sometimes organised.

In Singapore, it is extremely important to maintain racial harmony and the small little red dot cannot withstand the impact of racial conflict. This will not only affect every single people living in Singapore, but will also, cripple Singapore's economy. Especially when resource is scarce and there is little land to spare, it is very important to maintain every single relation, whether is it within racial or with other racial groups.

Without today's racial co-operation, Singapore would not have made to a globalised and well developed country. If racial critics were to fly across different racial groups, there would be riots and strikes, leading to disorder destruction, not only buildings, but also the people.

Racial harmony can be maintained if everyone plays a part in maintaining it. It is like a piece of glass, brittle and shatters easily when dropped. Be conscious of what you do and what you say about other racial and religious groups. Interact more, and get to know more about each others culture. This way, racial harmony will for sure be conserved.

HAPPY RACIAL HARMONY DAY!!
